RINGED The Circle of Eternity and Repetition (13 Janabiyahs)
Masour is an artistic and philosophical piece reflecting the concept of eternity and repetition through the circular form, symbolizing neither a beginning nor an end, but a continuous cycle and permanence. This idea is embodied in southern traditional dances such as Al-Qazou’i, Al-Razf, and Al-Khattwa.
The artwork features a collection of janabiyahs (traditional daggers) arranged in a circular formation inspired by southern heritage. It represents the transformation of these dances from war rituals into joyful celebrations of love and unity, resonating with the steady rhythm and harmonious movement of traditional songs, reflecting values of solidarity and strength.
In its initial iteration, Masour invites boundless interpretations, merging heritage and the present in a dialogue full of life and beauty.
The crown reflects the historical role of women in the Arabian Peninsula as symbols of leadership and strength throughout history, drawing inspiration from the southern Saudi heritage and the traditional silverwork craftsmanship of Najran.
Aliyah’s Crown bridges heritage and mythology in a contemporary vision that celebrates Arab women, offering a work that ties the past to the present and future.
